After Surf

After surf is a water sports school specialized in windsurfing and catamaran sailing located in Benicássim. We have facilities right on the beach where you will find all the necessary services to make you feel comfortable before and after carrying out the activity (toilets, changing rooms, rest area,...).

We teach windsurfing and catamaran courses at 2 levels: beginner and advanced. All of them led by qualified instructors and with extensive experience behind them.

In addition, we provide rental material for kayaking or paddle surfing, you choose how you want to spend your time!

You can also rent pleasure boats to spend a day at sea enjoying the sun, water and good company. For this you haveskates or catamarans.

On the other hand, we want you to know some wonders of the region located on land. For this reason we organize routes and excursions through the Irta mountain range and the Las Palmas desert. These landscapes have particular characteristics that will make you fall in love.

In the winter season we also take trips to the French Alps so that we can appreciate a frozen landscape in all its splendor.

At After Surf we want you to enjoy all the leisure possibilities offered by the nature that surrounds us. For this reason, we offer several kayaks for rent so that all users who want can have them at a very affordable price.

We have 2 types of kayaks:

• Hobie Kayak, in which we can move thanks to apedal system and a sail. The user directs the boat with the help of a rudder. It is ideal for relaxation tours but also for practicing exercise in an active way in which power and speed are sought.

• Classic kayak, navigation happens due to the propulsion of the paddle. Focused on users who are new to this sport or who want to enjoy a relaxed and enjoyable activity.

If you need it, after renting the material, one of our instructors will be able to give you a brief talk about how this boat works, but we guarantee that it has no mystery and that even the smallest members of the family will be able to sail. in it individually.

The use of a life jacket is mandatory.

At After Surf we offer specialized training in catamaran navigation for those who wish to learn to sail or want to update their knowledge in this matter.

The classes take place on the coast of Benicássim as they have excellent weather conditions that help the activities develop in an optimal and satisfactory way for all users.

We currently have 2 courses:

• Initiation course: it consists of a theoretical part in which we will learn the characteristics of the types of wind and the basic navigation rules, the procedure to prepare the boat before starting the trip; and another practical part in which we will test everything we have learned. In total there are 5 hours of individual class (4 hours are allocated to navigation) aboard theHobie – Cat 16, a 5-meter catamaran that is characterized by its easy handling and speed.

• Advanced course: will be carried out with Hobie – Cat FX – One, a boat that requires a higher level of knowledge and practice. You will be accompanied at all times by a monitor who will supervise your learning and guarantee your evolution as a student.

At After Surf we are experts in instructing in one of the most rewarding sports that exist: windsurfing. We have a perfect location due to its climate and with qualified monitors with extensive experience in the sector. So the only thing missing is you.

We have 2 levels:

• Initiation course: it consists of a theoretical part and a practical part in which we will test your stability and balance in the water. The duration is 8 hours in total, which are usually distributed over several days according to the group's preferences. Classes are taught to groups of 4 people maximum to guarantee personalized and quality attention.

The minimum age to access the activity is 7 years.

• Evolution course: recommended for those who have some experience in this sport. We will focus on our students starting to plan with the harness. To sign up for this course, it is essential to analyze the individual level of each of our users to organize homogeneous groups that guarantee the progression of all participants.

We have suitable material for each of the levels. The boards and sails are top notch.

At After Surf we want to offer you all the possibilities so that you can practice paddle surfing at your leisure. For this reason, we rent various equipment consisting of a board, paddle and high-quality neoprene for all ages.

Paddle surfing is a booming sport due to the health benefits it brings to those who practice it but also because of its simplicity and easy handling. You just have to paddle while standing on the board. By making a few simple movements you can walk through the sea or even surf the waves.

To practice this sport, the only thing you need is to know how to swim. If you don't have much practice, it is better to use a life jacket to avoid scares that could ruin the experience.

When you arrive at our facilities, an instructor will advise you on what equipment to rent and, if you need it, he will be willing to give you a brief talk about how to use the equipment and what movements you should do to avoid losing your balance and move quickly from one place to another.

Heliopolis beach is a perfect place to start paddle surfing as it has several corners of great beauty that you can only access with the help of the board, unless you are a professional swimmer. Ask our instructors which routes to follow, they will be happy to help you.

At After Surf we want you to discover all the beautiful landscapes of Castellón and not limit ourselves to its seas and beaches. For this reason we have organized some routes and excursions in the area in which you can discover the peculiarities of some of the most emblematic natural spaces of Castellón.

The excursions most requested by our users are:

• The Irta mountain range: its scrub vegetation and its proximity to the coast have made it the habitat of numerous species, especially birds such as the Audouín gull, the shag and the Eleonor falcon. The artistic heritage also occupies an important place in this mountain range, especially the Alcalá de Chivert castle and the Santa Magdalena de Pupils castle. We will also visit some of the numerous watchtowers that we can find in the surroundings.

• The Desert of Las Palmas: this landscape still shows the damage caused by the fire it suffered in 1992, but little by little its flora and, with it, its fauna are regenerating. It has 2 important monasteries, the old one (built in the 17th century) and the new one (built in the 18th century). We will have the opportunity to visit some of the numerous ruins that are scattered around these parts, such as the Miravet castle or the hermitage of Santa Magdalena.
