Xtreme Peaks presents unique challenges through the mountains of the Cantabrian Mountains in the immediate vicinity of the Picos de Europa. Both in winter and in summer we walk trails and routes that take us to peaks and places over 2,000 meters high enjoying unbeatable views.

In winter we do:

In each modality we have routes from the beginner level where a normal physical state is sufficient to the most advanced level only recommended for authentic adventurers who carry a specific preparation.

The routes are guided by an instructor with groups from 2 people onwards.

With PicosXtreme you will get to know the winter landscapes of the interior of Cantabria equipped with snowshoes . With these gadgets you can walk on the snow with great ease without sinking.

Near Fuente Dé and the Picos de Europa National Park with mountains of more than 2,000 meters we make routes in which at a certain height we can contemplate the sea of clouds typical of this area.

We put a guide from two people without a fixed maximum number.

You will be able to do routes from a very gentle beginner level through intermediate to advanced level routes, with hard routes up to the highest areas.

A very pleasant way of hiking on the snow and suitable for the whole family.

We provide you with indescribable sensations around the Picos de Europa and Fuente Dé with walks using touring skis . Comfortable slide on the snow to discover the winter mountain landscape of the Cantabrian Mountains.

We have many routes to offer, depending on the snow we find, your preferences and physical level we will choose one or the other.

The routes will be led by a guide who will give you the necessary material composed of special cross-country skis for this purpose with a surface that helps you grab and sticks.

The crossings can be as little as 1 hour and also up to half a day or a whole day with various stops for lunch.

We cross the abrupt landscapes of high mountain of the Picos de Europa with peaks of more than 2,000 meters and some of more than 2,500 meters. We do hiking, nordic walking and trail running routes.

From near Fuente Dé we are gaining height through the valley to the highest points of the mountains, reaching peaks such as:

• Peña Vieja

• Treasurer

• La Padiorna

• Torrecerredo

The routes can be half day or a whole day making stops at various lodges and mountain huts such as those of Cabaña Verónica or Collado Hermoso.

The basic technique course consists of 2 hours and the training course like that.

The strongest route we have is known as the Super Special. A journey of 33 km and 7 hours that will take you to the very Orange of Bulnes.

We do nordic walking courses, hiking mode very beneficial for the whole body working all muscle groups. We teach you to take the appropriate technique although you must have a good level of physical fitness.

Since spring and throughout the summer they are the best times to visit this area of the Cantabrian Mountains.

The via ferrata tours are one of the most exciting and entertaining options to spend an afternoon in the countryside living intrepid experiences.

At Picos Xtreme we propose you to make a via ferrata with the help of our professional experts. This is located in the town of Los Llanos, in the Camaleño valley.

Considering that not everyone has made a via ferrata , we have developed two route options :

- A more simple , for people who have never done a ferrata or those who have done it but want a rather quiet evening. This route contains three walls with different gripping tools that lead towards the end of the mountain, towards the top.

- Via ferrata of high level: once you reach the third wall instead of continuing up, you will deviate towards a Tibetan bridge that will lead to a wall with other challenges to overcome. To be able to do this, you must have done a via ferrata at some time or hire a specialized guide to help you.

PicosXtreme invites you to visit Barranco del Navedo , a ravine that can be enjoyed at different levels in Cantabria .

Within all active tourism activities canyoning is one of the sports with the most hook and the most fun. In Spain it can be practiced in all communities, but without a doubt the Picos de Europa is one of the most important areas. In canyoning there are slides and jumps, complicated walls and rappels ... depending on the route, people of different levels, families or experts can participate.

In a first route they will always take you through a level one route, without technical sections or complications. If you have done canyoning before and want some more action, you can request it.

The Barranco de la Hermida has four rappels, many slides and a jump at the end of about eight meters, the latter is not mandatory. To get to the ravine you will have to walk for twenty minutes but they are bearable. The ravine is entered from a small jump so that you get used to the water. The first abseil is ten meters long and is very vertical, ending in a pool. Later, slides and rappels of different meters follow each other. The higher the river flow, the more fun the activity is.

PicosXtreme organizes quad routes in Cantabria . These automatic vehicles are perfect for accessing difficult or low-traffic areas. They can support weight and ride on almost any type of terrain. To participate in this activity you need a driving license B.

The routes are made on different tracks and trails, the quad will go without problems through mud, snow in winter, stone paths, streams or small dunes.

These routes are guided and are designed for sightseeing and contemplating the landscape, not for sporty driving. You will explore places with difficult access and you will have a fun day. They are easy to drive vehicles and the journey will take an hour and a half or two hours.

You will need comfortable clothes depending on the time of year, and appropriate footwear. In summer sunglasses and in winter gloves and warm clothing. The helmet, goggles and gloves are included in the activity.

They have three two-seater quads, so you can live this adventure together and organize a route for six. Or if you prefer, you can each go on a quad. What do you prefer?

With PicosXtreme you can descend the Cares-Deva river, in Cantabria , in Canoe . A route that has been in force for more than two hundred years and that was for many the only means of transport. You will start in Panes and end in Unquera, in the Asturias area.

Small rapids are formed in the Cares-Deva river that provide action to the route in contrast to much quieter areas. So in the quiet areas you can enjoy the landscape, while in the rapids you will forget everything.

No knowledge or experience is needed, before starting the activity a monitor will explain the basics and give you the canoe. There is no loss, you only have to descend the river for approximately twelve kilometers, although a monitor will go close to you in case you need him. Two people will go together on the boat, which makes the tour more fun.

The activity includes travel to the starting point of the tour and to the end of it. The canoe and paddles, a life jacket and picnic, plus R.C and medical insurance.

They recommend you to come with a bathing suit, shirt and shorts and sneakers, if you want you can also bring a towel in case you end up in the water.
