Escuela de Surf Los Locos

The Los Locos Surf School , was born in 1999 with the purpose of bringing and bridge between surf and society. Today, after these years of walking and many students behind us, we can say that we have achieved a good part of that goal.

Three have been the pillars on which we have based ourselves to achieve this objective:

1.- Approach surfing in a general way (both children and adults) through the initiation courses offered by our school.

2.- Promote a solid base of surfers (quarry) through the Muni-cipal Surf School of Suances.

3.- Consolidate a competition team together with Jalaika Surfboards and Los Locos Surf-Shop (Torrelavega), so that surfers who opt for the competition and stand out in it, are protected both at the level of technical equipment, such as continuous training. Gonzalo Calle, Gerardo Madero, Lorena Sáez, J. Chocan and Eduardo Orduña, are clear examples of expert competition surfers who belong to our team.

-Initiation courses. Where you will begin to become familiar with all the elements of this sport.

-Improvement courses. Aimed at those who want to become wave experts.

We have a team of expert instructors, with extensive experience in this sport, certified by the Spanish Surfing Federation and the ISA (International Surfing Association).

Surf School Los Locos offer surf camps for teenagers between 11 and 17 years old during the months of July and for adults throughout the summer in Cantabria.

From Los Locos we want to offer you a professional service so that the youngest begin to feel the passion that this sport reports.

We offer 7-day courses , where we will include theoretical and practical classes in which we also carry out video correction sessions, so that they learn from the mistakes themselves.

The price includes:

-Surf material such as board, lycra, neoprene and different accessories.

-Diverse activities such as workshops, visits to Suances and beach soccer, among many others.

- Full board.

-Insurance.

In addition we offer you the option to further expand your training with:

-English classes with native teacher.

- Various sports such as horse riding, canoeing, paintball.

In most of the surf centers they will offer you the rental of stand up paddle equipment but in the Los Locos Surf School we teach you from the beginning to learn this modality. We also do it from one of the best corners of the peninsula for this type of water sports: Suances.

You will acquire all the knowledge that the SUP Spanish Champion, Tino Aja, will share with you in 3 modalities according to the experience with which you go:

- Basic sup : it is the one that is made in waters known as Flat Water because they remain flat and without waves that make it more difficult to start paddle surfing. We will work the posture standing on the board and the paddle back to the place from which we left.

- Improvement course : course in which we provide all the technical knowledge that we are able to transmit during the 2 hours it lasts. You will start to be autonomous with board and shovel.

- Sup in waves : it is a great step in terms of level as it will face the sea with an appreciable swell completely changing the way we move.

To practice, there are many places in the area that we can go to, such as the Ría de San Martín, the island of Rabbits or the Bay of La Concha.
