Mar de Hielo is an immersion center where we take advantage of our location in the Tarragona marina to offer you complete diving and boat trips . Above all, we have been able to take scuba diving to another level. Because Tarragona and its marine surroundings are a world full of history, with important remains both on the surface and on the seabed.

In diving, the fan is very large. First, the baptisms and guided dives for beginners and those without titles in this water sport. They are descents of a few meters in crystal clear waters to lose the fear of depth and gain diving skills.

But beyond this, we organize boat trips for diving graduates with spectacular views: wrecks with seahorses, nudibranchs and sunfish, and some other boats and planes submerged in the bottom for life. As we do routes to Dragonera , an underwater park in which there is a merchant ship of seventy meters in length. We can also visit a sunken German bomber, the Heinkel 111B, since the Civil War, which is one of the most visited and incredible wrecks you can see, and so close to home.

The diving titles are another of our offers. From beginner to advanced level, contact us to learn more about them and sign up to improve in this sport. And to work on this, we teach PADI Divemaster and guide courses.

As for the walks by the sea, we will move in a boat on routes of two hours and a half through the north of Tarragona, reaching the Tamarit castle at sunset. We will see on the coast places such as the Fort of the Queen and the Roman circus, before making a stop to bathe in the sea, snorkel and take photos with an iconic landscape of the Costa Dorada.

But our name has a well-founded origin. In addition to knowing the Mediterranean in depth, we have specialized in dives under the ice . To do this, we will move to the Pyrenees, specifically to Panticosa , where the surface water has frozen and in which we will get (with the waterproof diving suit and all the necessary material) to have a different experience full of tension and liberation.

Although our name leads you to think that we work in frozen places, at Mar de Hielo we take you diving through the best points of the Costa Dorada, because we are located in the Tarragona marina .

But it is true that one of our differential points and that our clients like the most is diving under ice, and that is why we call ourselves that. Apart from the wide range of scuba diving on the Tarragona coast, such as baptisms, guided dives, PADI courses ... you have the opportunity to try this dive under the frozen layer of water of Formigal .

You already know that you can have a first experience with all the attention on you with the baptisms : the coast of Tarragona contains a beautiful ecosystem to start practicing this sport.

But if you already have a title in this water sport, we do boat trips to reach rock reefs, where planes and sunken ships still lie. We also got to Dragonera Island to see a very visited wreck from all over the Mediterranean Sea: the Heinkel 111B , a German bomber sunk during the years of the Civil War.

But we will not only see sunken ships. The animals have made these wrecks their homes and have colored the seascape: seahorses, sunfish and, if we have a good day, we can even see dolphins.

But are you looking for where to get a diving title ? Here we offer them from initiation to technical diving. And if you want to make a living from this water sport, you can also pass the guide or Divemaster courses to work as a teacher.

Tarragona is a fantastic spot for boat trips . In Mar de Hielo we organize these excursions along the Costa Dorada , generally heading north, where we will pass through wonderful places that can be seen from the deck of the ship.

The excursions are from the Tarragona marina and last around two and a half hours . Normally, when the weather is favorable, we will pass by Fuente la Reina , by the Roman circus of the capital of Tarragona and more historical constructions of the coast until arriving at the castle of Tamarit .

It is a castle from the Middle Ages that surely sounds like a lot to you, because scenes from the Game of Thrones series and for the weddings of multiple celebrities have been recorded. On that same beach we will make a stop to take a dip and enjoy a snack in the Mediterranean. The photos of this place are great, especially at sunset, and we also offer you to practice snorkel , where the clarity of the water allows you to see a bottom full of marine life.

The return to the port is bordering the coast of Tarragona by cliffs. It is a family experience or in a group of friends, suitable for children and adults, as well as learning the culture and history of a very important region in the history of Spain.

At Mar de Hielo we have specialized in various water sports to do on the coast of Tarragona. paddle surfing is one of them, and we take advantage of its growing pull to take you on guided routes through historical and beautiful points to behold near the ancient Roman city.

We will leave from the port of Tarragona and sail for 2 hours until we return again to the starting point. We even divide the route into three levels of difficulty according to your ability to paddle on a paddle surf board: beginner, medium and advanced.

In the direction of the coast we will see the Roman ruins and the most emblematic geographical points of Tarragona, such as the circus , the Miracle point, the impressive cliffs that safeguard the city, the Arrabassada beach ...

But not only that, because the proximity of all these places will allow us to visit the Playa dels Cossis, the statue of San Magí and the Fortín de la Reina , a military construction dating from the 18th century.

In addition, we have free parking if you hire the activity (it is difficult to park near the port), as well as changing rooms with showers and bar and restaurant service with typical coastal food Mediterranean.
