Canoeing is a sport that has more and more users due to its ease and the possibility of doing it individually or with more people. At Escuela Asturiana we have prepared courses for you to enjoy the river aboard a canoe, learning all the secrets to manage it.

We have a large fleet of canoes so you can choose the number of places on board. You can set the course yourself in an individual canoe or come with friends to descend the Sella.

The shortest route lasts around 1 hour and a half and we will reach Toraño. The next route is somewhat longer, it will take you 2 to 3 hours and will reach the town of Llordón. The longest stretch will be almost 4 hours until disembarking in Llovio.

They are very simple routes that are done aboard practically unsinkable canoes. You can do it without experience and you will discover a very refreshing world of fun. Descend the river at full speed in a very fun activity. At Escuela Asturiana we want to offer you a rafting descent so that you can enjoy the speed while having a great time aboard an inflatable raft.

The descent will take place in one of the wildest stretches of the Sella River, a perfect river for any type of water sport and especially for rafting. This activity is for a minimum of 6 people since our rafts have a capacity for 6, 8 or 10 sailors. If there are more of you, you can come up to a maximum of 50 people and we will prepare a special descent.

It is not necessary to have done rafting before to do this activity, but we do ask that you know how to swim and stay in the water with ease. If you meet this requirement, don't wait any longer and ask us for all the information you need so you can enjoy the descent with us.

Plan your descent of the Sella in the most frenetic and fun way with Escuela Asturiana, rafting is the best way to enjoy the adventure of this famous northern river and we make it very easy for you to achieve it.

At the Asturian School we want you to experience the descent of the Sella in the most intense way possible and the way to achieve this is through hydrospeed.

To hydrospeed in the Sella we use a board that floats, like a water sled to which the participant holds on to go down the river individually. You face the whitewater face to face, so you will have to be of legal age and be careful with the elements that we encounter, such as rocks and branches on the banks. You will be protected by an especially thick neoprene, so that contact with obstacles is not a problem, and by a helmet that you must keep on.

We started this adventure at 10:30 a.m. in the morning and it will take us almost half a full day. Of course, the ideal is to stick to the spring months so that the state of the river is suitable for this modality, since it is during the thaw dates when we will navigate with everything in our favor.

Each hydrospeed group is led by an instructor on one of these sleds who will indicate how to continue along the section at hand. At the end of this same group, another of our team members is in a kayak to make sure everyone is safe.

Fly over the Asturian mountains aboard a two-seater paraglider. With Escuela Asturiana you can do it with different options depending on whether you are looking for something occasional or a course of more than one day:

• Paragliding ride: you will enjoy a flight without the need to have previous experience or a plan to continue practicing this sport. You will jump in a two-seater paraglider in which an instructor will go with you who will keep the paraglider on course and make sure you enjoy this experience.

• Initiation course: this course is designed for all those who have jumped and want to continue enjoying this sport. You will learn everything you need to fly in both theoretical and practical classes. You will learn to take off, land and make turns in the air. At the end of this course you will be able to take an exam that will give you the official Paragliding Pilot qualification.

• Improvement course: if you are already a great pilot and want to improve everything you know, come take an improvement course with us. You will be able to fly with other paragliding pilots and glide near slopes and high mountains. This course lasts 4 days and it will be necessary to have previously taken an introductory course

At Escuela Asturiana we are a few kilometers from the impressive Picos de Europa Natural Park. We will go there to carry out the climbing activities that we have proposed for you.

If you are an experienced climber we will take you up more complicated walls that will require some skill to navigate the most complicated routes. But if what you are looking for is a first contact with climbing, we will find easier walls so that you can face them without much difficulty.

All the walls we climb are in the Picos de Europa area and you will be the one who has the final say as to which mountain to climb. You must contact us beforehand to tell us what level you have and what your preferences are and we will find the perfect mountain for you.

To climb it is necessary to have a certain agility to perform complicated movements and you will need comfortable shoes to be able to secure your feet at different points of the route.

Come walk through the Asturian mountains on a hiking route that we have prepared at Escuela Asturiana. You will enjoy nature like you have never done before passing through routes full of vegetation and surprising fauna.

You will enjoy a day in nature walking alongside the wildest animals. You will travel routes through the Picos de Europa area, adapting to your level. It is not necessary to have great experience to go hiking, but sufficient physical condition is required to endure the entire route. Depending on this condition, we will look for more or less complicated paths according to your preferences.

Hiking is the best way to discover the mountains and reach places as impressive as the Covadonga Lakes. We will also take you along the Cares Route to show you a unique place formed by the river. Another of our routes passes through Ordiales, a place with a lot of charm and full of surprising landscapes.

This activity is perfect for families since the little ones can come and learn about nature on spectacular routes.

Do you want to discover the depths of the earth? Feel like a true explorer with the caving activity we have prepared for you.

We will go down into the limestone caves of the easternmost part of Asturias. There we will investigate all the underground galleries, allowing ourselves to be surprised by the incredible stalagmites and stalactites that appear before our eyes. We will also see underground rivers and the result of their erosion in the cave.

You will be able to enjoy a surprising rocky forest that we will investigate at different levels.
Basic level: this route will be done without ropes or complicated jumps. You will walk through simple galleries while enjoying the formations around you.

Deep level: for the most daring, we have prepared a ride in which you will have to descend using ropes, make small jumps and navigate slopes full of charm.

From the moment you enter the cave you must wear a protective helmet with lighting and a jumpsuit that you put on over your clothes. The clothes you come with must be comfortable so you can move easily and the footwear must be mountain type so that the soles do not slip.

We offer you different tours depending on your preferences, although in all of them you can find unrepeatable places:

• Picos de Europa Itinerary: We will leave from Cangas until we reach the Picos de Europa touring tracks and paths full of charm with buildings full of history. This tour lasts a whole day so at lunch time it will be time to regain strength. We will do it in Caín and then continue the route visiting the beginning of the Cares Gorge and continue back to Cangas de Onís.

• Cares Gorge Itinerary: We will also depart from Cangas de Onís and head towards the Cares route. This route is well known due to its great beauty and its ability to attract all those seeking strong emotions. In addition to the 4x4 route, you will also have to do a route on foot and get to where vehicles cannot pass.

If you want to practice a sport that does not require physical strength or excessive wear and tear, you can come with us and try your aim in archery.

Come to our shooting range in Arriondas and enjoy this special sport by shooting arrows at a target located at a great distance. You will test your aim at 15 meters to start and learn, and then we will zoom out so that you feel like a real archer shooting from a distance.

Archery is more fun practicing it in a group and competing to be the one with the most points. For this reason, we invite you to come with your friends or co-workers and defeat them by showing that you are the most accurate with arrows.

The environment is also an incentive to practice archery with us since you can admire the Picos de Europa and other mountains around us.

We all know how impressive the Asturian landscape is. Being in this place and not doing any of the many sporting adventures it offers is almost a sin. With the excitement we feel towards these exercises and how much we know they make you enjoy, at Escuela Asturiana we have prepared various Kayak routes for you to experience fantastic sensations with us.

With our boats and our paddles, you will be able to row far away, surrounding each stretch of nature. We always make departures from Arriondas , which is the town where we are. The navigation possibilities are as follows:

• Sea kayak : it is a journey guided by a monitor through areas between Llanes, Lastres and Ribadesella. The duration is at least 2 hours.
• Descent of the Sella by Kayak : it reaches Raindrops and you have the possibility of traveling 7, 11 or 16 km, being the duration of 1 hour and a half to 3 hours. The road is full of fauna and vegetation of the area.

To navigate it is not necessary that you have previous experience but it is taken for granted that you know how to swim. So bring your swimsuit and lots of sunscreen and ... enjoy!
